114th Street - Pacific Street to Burke Street (SP 93-05)

About the Project

The proposed 114th Street Pacific Street to Burke Street Project in Omaha will expand the existing 2-lane configuration on 114th Street to a 3-lane roadway.  The south limit of the project will match the existing 3 lane configuration near 114th  Street and Pacific Street.  The north limit of construction will match the existing 3 lane section which transitions to four lanes just past Burke Street.  Major improvements planned for the project include a new roadway with curb and gutter, storm sewer, sidewalk and a multi-use trail.  The storm sewer component of the project will utilize the existing storm sewer to the east near Meadow Road and the channel in Meadow Lane Park.  Minor right-of-way (ROW) acquisitions are required for curb ramps throughout the project at the intersections.  Temporary and permanent ROW easements are required for construction and maintenance.  Project benefits include improving safety for all transportation users, enhanced traffic operation, improved drainage and decreasing peak hour congestion.

 Utilities will start relocation work for the project in the Fall of 2017 with roadway construction anticipated to begin in the Spring of 2018.

114th Street - Pacific Street to Burke Street

Roadway Improvements

Public Pre-construction Meeting

The City of Omaha will hold a Public Pre-construction Meeting regarding the upcoming roadway improvements to South 114th Street between Pacific Street and Burke Street. 

                        Meeting Place:           Burke High School Cafeteria

                                    Time:              6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.

                                    Date:               Thursday, January 18, 2018

 Interested parties are invited to attend the informational meeting from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., and should enter the school through the main entrance.

 

Graham Construction is under contract to begin construction starting in March 2018. Personnel from the City of Omaha Public Works Department will be on hand to discuss construction phasing for the project.  Following a brief presentation, they will answer questions and discuss any concerns you may have. Those who have special needs related to accessing their property during construction and are unable to attend the meeting should contact the project manager listed below.

Where possible, an accessible meeting facility for disabled persons will be provided.  Appropriate provisions for the hearing and visually impaired persons will be made if the City of Omaha is notified by January 11th, 2018.  Notification should be submitted to:  Public Works Department, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, Suite 600, Omaha, NE.  68183, telephone (402) 444-5220.
