24th Street Complete Streets

About the Project

This public information meeting is being held for three proposed projects:

  • 24th Street Complete Street Project
  • US-275, 25th – 23rd St Project
  • 24th Street Bridge Project

The 24th Street Complete Street Safety Project is located on 24th Street, from U.S. Highway 275 (US275 or ‘L’ Street) to Leavenworth Street. To improve safety while maintaining acceptable traffic operations, this project would reconfigure 24th Street from a four-lane roadway to a three-lane roadway with center turn lane and a bike lane in each direction.

The US -275, 25th – 23rd Street Project is located on US-275, starting just west of the US-75 Kennedy Freeway northbound off -ramp and extending east to approximately the intersection of US-275 and 23rd street. This project would add dual left turn lanes on US-275 for eastbound to northbound traffic.

The 24th Street Bridge Project would include repairs to the bridge, median removal, striping for bike lanes, and replacing a pedestrian rail with concrete barrier. This structure is located at the 24th Street overpass at Interstate 80, mile marker (MM) 453.37.
