  • Enhanced ease of use for pedestrians at signals by changing signal timing to bring up walk symbol every cycle (button push not required)
  • Improved lighting by working with OPPD to change to LED style lighting
  • Increased awareness of pedestrians with pedestrian warning signs
  • Increased awareness to drivers to drive slow with "SLOW" markings and periodic use of speed feedback signs
  • Created more opportunities for pedestrians to cross at unsignalizd locations by modifying center turn lane to a two-way left turn lane
  • Increased pedestrian visibility when crossing at signalized locations by implementing leading pedestrian intervals
  • Enhanced multi-modal travel on 30th Street by installing bike lanes for both directions

  • Increased pedestrian crossing safety by reducing the distance to cross and installing crosswalks and roadway signage, including portable roadway signage

  • Increased safety for all roadway users by reducing vehicle speeds through the lane use changes
