Cuming St, NW Radial Hwy, Military Ave Corridor Study (OPW 54487)

The purpose of this project is to improve safety for all users, walkability and multi-modal opportunities along the Nebraska Highway 64 / Link Highway 28-K corridor of Cuming Street (28th Street to Northwest Radial Highway), Northwest Radial Highway (Cuming Street to Military Avenue/ 63rd Street), and Military Avenue (Northwest Radial Highway/ 63rd Street to 70th Avenue). On average, there is 1 fatality along this corridor per year. There are more than 6 pedestrian crashes on the corridor which include fatalities. Increasing transit and multi-modal opportunities for this  corridor are included in the Metropolitan Area Planning Agency’s (MAPA) Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) which identified the corridor as a potential bus route and for improved bus service.

 

The project will include a study to develop a plan for improvements on the corridor to improve safety and access for all users and identify opportunities to improve multi-modal usage.
