I Street - 102nd Street to EB I-80 On-Ramp (OPW 53897)

About the Project

The existing pavement surface on I Street from 102nd Street to the eastbound I-80 on-ramp has deteriorated over the years and has reached the end of its serviceable life. This project will reconstruct
the roadway to a new concrete pavement section with curb and gutter, construction of an enclosed underground storm sewer system, and construction of a sidewalk and ADA curb ramps on the south side of the new roadway. West of the 108th Street intersection, the driving lane and turn lane configuration will be replaced in a similar manner as it currently exists. East of 108th Street intersection to the railroad tracks, the addition of a center turn lane is planned.
At this time, it is anticipated the construction activity will occur in two separate segments, the portion west of the 108th Street intersection and the portion east of the 108th Street intersection. Each of these segments will occur in a separate timeframe. While construction occurs west of the 108th Street intersection, I Street will be closed from 108th Street to the eastbound I-80 on-ramp. When construction occurs east of the 108th Street intersection, eastbound traffic is anticipated to be maintained for local access only to those properties located between 102nd Street and 108th Street.
