About the Project

As part of redevelopment of the Horseman’s Park site, improvements to Q Street will need to be made. Improvements include widening Q Street from a two-lane roadway to a three-lane, urban section with curb and gutter from 60th Street, east to the Papillion Creek bridge. An entrance to the Warhorse Casino will be constructed and a traffic signal will be added. A new sidewalk will be constructed on the south side of Q street to connect 60th Street to the Keystone trail.

Improvements at the intersection of 72^nd and Q Streets include dedicated, westbound right turn lanes, a dedicated northbound right turn lane and an additional, second westbound left turn lane. A new traffic signal will also be added.

Major construction activities on Q Street have begun with lane closures along Q Street throughout out the fall of 2022. There will be additional efforts that occur in spring 2023 to finalize the project.

This project will be constructed in phases. Construction activities will require a full closure of segments of Q street. Access to businesses in the area will be maintained but may require alternate routes. There is no designated detour for this project. Multiple roadways are available to drivers to navigate through the area.
