TCSP-28(114) N. Downtown Riverfront Pedestrian Bridge; C.N. 22571 (OPW 52487)

About the Project

The North Downtown Riverfront Connector Bridge project would span Riverfront Drive and the Union Pacific Railroad, connecting the western terminus of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge to a point near the intersection of 10th St and Mike Fahey St. The project would enhance bicycle and pedestrian connectivity between the riverfront and North Downtown Omaha. The existing Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge is a destination for pedestrians and bicyclists and connects the larger trail systems of Omaha and Council Bluffs, but it is currently difficult to access from destinations in North Downtown, including the TD Ameritrade Stadium, CHI Health Center (formerly CenturyLink Center), and Creighton University. Construction of the North Downtown (aka “Baby Bob”) Pedestrian Connector Bridge would complete the connection between these major destinations and promote further redevelopment in both North Downtown and the Riverfront.
