13th St Safety and Walkability Study (Update)
The City of Omaha is updating the 2018 Walkability Study for the 13th Street corridor between Interstate 80 and Pacific Street. The area has seen significant changes since the study was done, and recent efforts at the City like the Vision Zero Action Plan and Active Mobility Plan also necessitate another look at this High Injury Network corridor. The update will focus on slowing speeds and improving safety and accessibility for people walking, biking, taking transit, and driving. The study will analyze traffic and crash patterns, evaluate design alternatives, and assess potential impacts on both the built and natural environment. The outcome will be an updated Walkability Plan that reexamines the 2018 recommendations and identifies strategies to make 13th Street safer and more accessible for all users.
