Construction Updates

Get the latest information on current and upcoming construction projects throughout the city.

Top Construction Updates:

  • 144th Street - South and West Farm Development - (Update as of February 23rd, 2018)  Phase 3 will be starting as soon as the weather will permit and will include a full overnight closure of the 144th and Pacific Street intersections in April to construct the new signal. In addition to the roadway improvements some additional utility work will also occur and will result in lane restrictions at the intersection of 144th and Pacific Street.

Access to Millard North High School will be maintained at all times, however; lane restrictions may cause some delays.  Please plan accordingly, use caution and be patient during construction.

In an effort to attempt to complete the project as quickly as possible, early storm sewer work will begin for Phase 5 and 6 as soon as weather and conditions allow.

  • 114th Street - Pacific Street to Burke Street - As of Friday, February 23rd, 2018, MUD is continuing their pre-project construction by completing utility relocations at three key intersections:  NW corner 114th & Palamino, SE corner 114th & Jones, NE corner 114th & Lamp and the SE corner 114th & Farnam.

  • 168th Street - W. Dodge to W. Maple - Beginning Thursday, March 1,  168th Street between W. Dodge Road and Bedford Avenue, and Blondo between 171st Street and Dora Hamann Parkway will be closed for construction. The closure will be in effect for the duration of 2018. Work Zone Safety!

While we work to improve the transportation system throughout the city, you will likely encounter construction work zones throughout the entire year. As the City works to improving your travel and safety, it is important to pay special attention while moving through work zones.

Workzone safety tips:

Slow down to give yourself time to stop.

Pay attention to new/temporary signage.

Keep a safe distance between you and the car in front of you.

Stay alert when workers are present.

Limit distractions such as talking on a cell phone or eating.

Buckle up!
